JUMP'S Alternative Breaks Info Night

Alternative Breaks is a program that offers Sonoma State students the opportunity to go on a week-long service experience during their Spring Break. Each service experience focuses on a social justice issue occurring in the community in which we work with, but also is prevalent here in Sonoma County.

Students learn about a social issue and volunteer during the week of Spring Break. The issues include hunger, homelessness, food insecurity, food deserts, sexual violence, transitional housing, rehabilitation programs, transitional shelters, and so much more! This experience allows for students of different backgrounds to come together and serve in a community as well as learn about each other and the issue they focus on.

This year we are very excited to provide four experiences, which will be occurring during

Spring Break, March 11-18th, 2017.

  • Creating Healthier Communities
  • Food Justice
  • Working Through Transition
  • Survivors, Spaces and Advocacy

Applications are open and the deadline has been extended until November 18th, so do not miss your opportunity to apply!

There are scholarships and payment plans available if selected to participate!
