Named “the U.S.A.’s hottest baroque band” by Classical Music Magazine, APOLLO’S FIRE,with conductor JEANETTE SORREL, is a collection of creative artists who share a passion for rhetoric, dedicated to the baroque ideal that music should evoke the various passions in the listeners. They present an electrifying semi-staged production of Monteverdi’s opera Orfeo, based on the Greek legend of Orpheus and his descent into Hades to bring his one true love back to the living world.
