You will gain hands-on marketing experience and learn new skills while having your voice and ideas heard! These jobs will prepare you for a job in marketing or communications upon graduation and are sure to make you stand out from the crowd!

What is Entrepreneurial Activities?

We provide marketing and communication services for departments including University Culinary Services, Student Center, University Store, Conference and Event Services, Box Office, Campus Prints, WolfBucks, Student Involvement, Campus Recreation, Career Center, and Residential Education and Campus Housing.

Qualifications for All Positions:

  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred

  • Positive attitude accompanied by the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

  • Desire to expand skill set and gain real-world marketing experience

Additional Information:

  • Average hours: 16-18 hours per week

  • Starting Wage: $13.00 per hour with room for advancement in the future


Marketing Assistant

Are you interested in marketing, project management and operations?

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Marketing Manager with running day-to-day marketing operations including but not limited to project management, communicating with staff and ordering/delivering marketing materials

  • Daily administrative tasks and support to ensure the functionality and coordination of marketing activities including social media content creation, reviewing and editing marketing materials and more  

  • Assist with managing and scheduling content for the Student Center digital signage system and LoboVision

  • Prepare and track performance metrics

  • Conduct market research

  • Update department websites

  • Assist with videos including creating concepts and being on-screen talent

  • Work on additional projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Marketing experience preferred

  • Ability to provide feedback to stakeholders and peers

  • Experience with updating websites preferred but not required


Marketing Coordinator

Are you interested in marketing, project management and communications? The Marketing Coordinator will work on marketing and communications for Campus Recreation and Career Center departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Project manager for marketing initiatives including planning, scheduling and implementation

  • Run day-to-day marketing operations including but not limited to creating calendars, writing copy for campaigns and material ordering/delivery marketing materials

  • Work directly with student programmers, full-time staff and marketing staff to determine marketing needs and provide constant communication on all projects

  • Social media management and content creation (Instagram, Twitter & Facebook)   

  • Write copy and distribute communication materials including emails, website updates,  blog posts and press releases

  • Assist with videos including creating concepts and being on-screen talent

  • Prepare and track performance metrics

  • Work on additional projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Marketing and communications experience in copy writing, social media, or PR preferred

  • Must have excellent knowledge in social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter and Facebook)

  • Ability to deliver creative content (text and visuals)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Must be able to write, proofreading and edit copy with correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary


Social Media Marketing Coordinator

Do you love social media marketing? We are looking for a creative social media expert! The Social Media Marketing Coordinator will manage and create content for Seawolf Living and our other departments on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement and monitor social media on a daily and weekly basis

  • Plan and execute social media campaigns for special events and marketing campaigns

  • Use appropriate tone and voice geared towards specific target markets

  • Create engaging text, images and visual content

  • Boost engagement on social media platforms

  • Prepare and track performance metrics and measure effectiveness

  • Monitor ever-changing trends on social media platforms and develop a strategy to apply these trends to ensure maximum effectiveness  

  • Manage weekly Seawolf Living Takeovers including outreach, coordination and providing training as needed

  • Train co-workers and departments to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way

  • Assist with videos including creating concepts and being on-screen talent

  • Work on additional projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience with social media for a business is preferred  

  • Must have excellent knowledge in social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest)

  • Ability to deliver creative content (text and visuals)

  • Ability to gasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively

  • Must be comfortable taking photos of students and campus on an iPhone and/or camera

  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Must be able to write, proofreading and edit copy with correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.


Marketing Content Creator

Are you interested in marketing, communications and content creation? We are looking for a student assistant who loves to write and wants to help create marketing and communications materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Project manager and content creator including:

    • Create weekly Seawolf Living emails through Constant Contact

    • Manage and update Seawolf Living Squarespace website

    • Write blog posts on a weekly basis with an average of 3-5 posts per week

    • Create concepts and write video scripts

    • Write copy for marketing materials, events, lifestyle social media posts, websites and press releases

  • Create marketing and communication calendars and timelines

  • Prepare and track performance communication metrics and measure effectiveness

  • Act as a brand ambassador for Seawolf Living to help raise brand awareness

  • Assist with videos including creating concepts and being on-screen talent

  • Work on additional projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Marketing and communications experience in copywriting, social media, or PR preferred


Digital Content Creator

Do you have an interest in graphic design, photography and videography? The digital content creator will take on multi-media projects and help the team to create graphics, videos, and marketing materials for 10 departments on campus.

Responsibilities:

Graphic Design

Using Adobe Creative Cloud to:

  • Create print - ready graphics

  • Create digital graphics for social media content, email graphics and

  • YouTube thumbnails, etc.

  • Working with After Effects, creating motion graphic adversing to show on digital signage

Photography

Working on a Canon DSLR to:

  • Capture portraits, head shots and student photography on campus.

  • Capture our scenic campus throughout the year to share on social media

  • Attend events on campus to capture the experience of the event

Videography

Working with a Canon DSLR, Ricoh Mics to:

  • Plan video ideas through the whole process from an idea to the final edits

  • Film fun videos that are relatable to students

  • Edit raw footage in Adobe Premier and use After Effects to add motion graphics

  • Assist with videos including creating concepts and being on-screen talent

Qualifications:

  • Stay up-to-date on design styles and marketing trends

  • A strong, curated creative portfolio

  • Knowledgeable of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier, After Effects and Canon Camera equipment and iMac computers
