What to Expect at Orientation

Hello new Seawolves! Orientation is just around the corner! Are you excited? Orientation is two days jam packed with workshops, presentations, opportunities to meet new friends and so much more!

One of the most important parts of orientation is getting ready for your classes. On the first day, you'll have the chance to meet with your school to learn more about the departments you'll be spending your time at SSU with. After that you'll learn more about the General Education requirements for your major and you'll be able to get some advising before choosing and registering for your classes. Be sure to take advantage of this time to ask any questions you might have. It can get stressful trying to understand everything but luckily you will have people right there to answer your questions as they pop up.

Orientation is also the perfect time to get to know some new people and make new friends. When you get to orientation, there will be a time when you'll break into small groups to play some icebreaker games. Let's be honest; icebreaker games can be super awkward at first but they are a great way to get to know people! So don't be afraid to step just a little bit out of your comfort zone!

On day two you'll have the chance to walk around the Resource Fair after you have lunch. Tons of on-campus organizations and groups will have tables set up and you can learn more about what goes on here at Sonoma State from clubs to academic services. Don't forget to stop by the Seawolf Living table where you'll be able to get your picture taken with all your new friends and be entered to win some free WolfBucks!

Stay tuned for more info coming on June 1st about how you can have the best Orientation experience!
