Looking for a summer job? Apply to be a Summer Conference Assistant! The Summer Conference Assistant will be working with a team of students and staff to manage the day-to-day operations of the summer conference program. This position is expected to serve as a resource for the execution of all conference and event duties and services, with responsibilities including but not limited to interaction with guests, maintaining clean rooms, customer service, and helping to continually improve the facility operations. Summer Conference Assistants may hold any of the following positions during the duration of their employment: housekeeping, cellars/information desk and/or operations.

Major Duties:


•     Help maintain the reputation that SSU has developed over the years by providing clean facilities and rooms, efficient service, and helpful staff

•     Provide on-call maintenance and additional services to guests

•     Active position with diverse work environment

Cellars/Information Desk:

•     Provide day-to-day support for summer conference groups/events like encoding cards

•     Responsible for offering exceptional customer service in all occasions

•     Work on-call to support conference guests with various concerns

•     Maintain cleanliness of facilities


•     Assist in the set-up, take-down, and support for summer conference events

•     Responsible for providing customer service to guests and event participants

•     Maintain cleanliness of facilities

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicant must be articulate with an attention to detail. Must have the ability to think creatively and contribute “outside” of the box thinking while staying focused on initial goal. Must be able to communicate information effectively. Position requires student to be flexible with working hours, possessing time management skills and high work standards.
