Housing Move Out

The countdown to summer has begun! Once you finish you finals, the last step before beginning your summer is to clean out your living space. Here are some tips to help make the process easier!

Start Packing Your Stuff Early

If you start to prepare for move out early, the chances of you forgetting something are less likely than waiting until the last minute. Save yourself the stress too! Start making piles of things you won't need for the last few weeks of school. If you can, send some of this stuff home to make more space on your journey back.

Sort Through All The Junk

Odds are you have term papers or old notebooks laying around from the previous semester. De-clutter your dorm by throwing out anything old that you no longer need. Grab a trash bag and sort through all your miscellaneous items before finals to help move out day go by faster. Every CSA will have a case of garbage bags for students to use for trash and/or donations.

On May 13, giant dumpsters will be delivered to campus for garbage and recycling.

Donate Any Unwanted Items

Instead of throwing away gently used items, you should donate! Donation items such as clothing, food and household items. Please only use the food bins provided on-campus for non-perishable and unopened food items.

There are currently four permanent Goodwill donation bins in the Residential Community, which are located in Zinfandel, Sauvignon, Beaujolais and Tuscany.

There will also be donation locations open for finals week on Friday May 13- Saturday May 21 in three areas in the Residential Community: Casentino in Tuscany, Barrel Room in Sauvignon and Zinfandel Lounge in the Zinfandel quad. The Zinfandel Lounge and Casentino will be open for drop off from 10am – 11pm. The Barrel Room will remain closed but you can leave items outside in the blue bin, or leave food in the Redwood Food Bins.
