How to Keep Your Summer Health Habits

Summer seems like a distant memory at this point, and it can be easy to forget the healthy habits you kept. Here's how to keep your summer health vibe and carry it into the semester!

1. Eat a balanced diet

College is the time to fall out of healthy habits due to high stress, but be better than this! Eat a balanced diet (don't skip breakfast)! Whether you are eating at the Kitchens or cooking your own food, be sure to balance your diet with fruits and veggies! Remember, you can eat pizza, but don't forget the broccoli. It's all about balance!

2. Exercise regularly

In the summer this was easy because you could go for a swim, enjoy a beautiful hike, or go for a late night run. During the school year exercising regularly becomes so much harder to work into your busy schedule. However, exercise is key to maintaining your health so make the time! All it takes is 15 minutes a day of physical activity. Sign up for an InMotion class at the Rec with a friend and keep each other motivated!

3. Get your beauty sleep

Yes, this is relevant to both males and females. Getting enough sleep is essential to your health. If you're not getting enough sleep at night the best way to catch up is by taking a quick power nap during the day to feel more energized!

4. Explore

Try new things! The weather is still nice which gives you the perfect opportunity to go out and explore Sonoma County. Just because summer is over doesn't mean you still can't go on adventures!
