I Can Help Workshop

“I Can Help” is a CSU-wide mental health literacy and suicide risk reduction program for college and university campuses. It is designed to help prepare students, faculty, staff, and other non-mental health professionals with the knowledge of available health and wellbeing resources, and trains participants to better support distressed students.

A suicide occurs approximately every 17 minutes in the U.S. and is the 2nd leading cause of death among college students. At least 60% of us will personally know someone who dies by suicide. We are working to change these statistics.

The "I CAN HELP" workshop offers tools and practice for multiple realistic interactions with students. You will learn to recognize distress, determine who might need a referral, and how to work with and support a student or colleague.

Seating is limited and will be accommodated on a first come, first serve basis.
